Discover the island of Tahiti by 4-wheel drive vehicle on this
half-day tour. Highlights of this excursion include Mount Marau, where
you will have a birds eye view of the Punaruu Valley. At 4320 feet, you
will also have a panoramic view of the islands highest peaks, including
Orohena, Aorai, Tetufera, and Teamaa. Your next stop will be the Arahoho
Blow Hole at Tiarei, a powerful sea water geyser that showers on
visitors. Enter the Fa’aurumai Valley to visit one of three waterfalls.
The rainfoirest surrounding this valley is thick with hutu and mape
trees. If you look carefully, you will find guava and star fruit along
the trail. This tour operates daily, year-round (with the exception of
December 25 and January 1).
Circle Island Tour of Tahiti
Your tour begins on the east coast of the island, stopping at Point
Venus, a beautiful bay where the first European explorers landed. Next
travel to the Arahoho Blow Hole, a powerful sea geyser, followed by
Taravao, a strategic isthmus joining Tahiti Nui and Tahiti Iti. Enjoy
lunch at Gauguin Restaurant before continuing your tour with a visit to
the Gauguin Museum. Your next stop is the Maraa Fern Grotto, just off
the Paea shore line. Some Tahitians believe evil spirits lurk in the
shadowy depths. Your last stop is the Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands.
Opened in 1978, it is an excellent introduction to the island and its
glorious history. This full-day excursion is available year-round on
Sundays.
