Australs
Rurutu is the most northern island of the archipelago. The numerous caves embellished by amazing stalagtites and stalagmites used to be graves and are one of many attractions on the island. Rurutu also allows the observation of humpback whales when they come to breed between July – October. The highlight for divers is of course swimming with a mother whale and her calf or hearing the songs of the males trying to attract the females.
