 HOTELS ON RAIATEA

Vahine Island Resort Hawaiki Nui

Hawaiki Nui Hotel

The Raiatea Hawaiki Nui hotel (formerly Pearl Beach) is located on the water's edge and is a mile away from Uturoa. It provides a wonderful gateway to discover Raiatea, the "Sacred Island" known as the birthplace of the Polynesian gods. Traditional bungalows set in gardens, on the beach or overwater welcome guests to this spot.

The well kept grounds include a shallow, natural spring-fed pool, a boutique and a bar.The hotel also has a restaurant, reputed to be the best on the island, and bar that overlooks the lagoon and swimming pool. Raiatea is the seafood capital of French Polynesia and the Hawaiki Nui makes the most of the local bounty by serving feasts of shrimp, lobster and other fresh delicacies with Tahitian flair.

There are 12 standard rooms, 4 garden bungalows, 7 lagoon front bungalows and 9 overwater bungalows, combining traditional style with modern comforts to host both local and international guests. Each bungalow is equipped with a mini-bar, television, ceiling fan, telephone and safety deposit box. The garden bungalows offer a lounge area, while the over water bungalows have a lovely veranda overlooking the lagoon.

The hospitality is in keeping with the legendary Polynesian welcome. However, the Hawaiki Nui Hotel is above all, the gateway to discovering the island of Raiatea. The sacred Raiatea, the secret Raiatea… a tropical volcanic island in all its splendor.
